Mini Cooper Roll Center Adjuster Spacer

The Front Roll Center Adjustment Kit by Megan Racing raises the front roll-center geometry by using an aluminum spacer, while maintaining original bump-steer with original tie rod ends. Altering front suspension geometry by raising roll-center, results in extensive increase to roll resistance and important reduction of suspension compression of outside front wheel during cornering through enhanced weight transfer distribution. Throughout cornering, this leads to reduction of under steer through reduced front wheel firmness, as well as improved steering feel, accuracy and faster laps. The spacer is .67” and the 2nd one is .20” thick and may used based on your wheel size see below. This is a must if you have lowered your MINI and very helpful for an OEM setup too.

Note From Dustin; while the geometry majors among us may understand the above text I didn’t. Until I installed them. WOW! 1st sign of change was how my MINI rolled forward once the tires hit the shop floor off the rack. Then I drove it. OMG! What a change. It’s amazing to me that adding just the thick spacer made such a big improvement. The MINI is more balanced and pulls though a corner with less effort and much less drama. You will need an alignment after install so also think about installing a set of IE Fixed camber plates and PowerFlex Bushing too.

Wheel sizes and notes: This is a great mod but takes extra care to get right the 1st time and not damage wheels.

  • 15” they won’t fit.
  • 16” main spacer will work only if you cut the ball joint nut/stud in half +/-
  • 17” main spacer will work but you may still need to cut ball joint stud based on off set of wheel.
  • 18” main spacer will work and if you add 2nd shim you may need to cut ball joint stud or bolt.

Please test the clearance with your MINI on the ground and rolled a few feet. Then bounce the front up and down to make sure bottom of ball joint stud/nut is not rubbing inside the wheel.

TQ spec for two bolts in kit is 41 lbs.

Also note if you cut your ball joint nut it’s a good idea to use Safety Wire. and

If your ball joints have more than 100K on them it’s a good time to replace them.

Only fits R50 R53 2002 to 2006 MINI Cooper Coupes and R52 2004 to 2008 Rag Tops.

The Mini Cooper has an extremely long heritage in racing. From it s beginnings, the car was always a small, quick and nimble automobile that was extremely fun to drive. It wasn’t t very powerful, but it had amazing handling. In 2002, BMW took over the production of the Mini Cooper; redesigning the Mini Cooper which had gone untouched for so many years wasn’t t an easy task, but BMW managed to bring the compact car to modern appeal.

When BMW started to produce the Mini Cooper, they incorporated their own long line of racing heritage and racing technology in the project to come up with the Mini Cooper that you see today. With it s Bulldog-Like stance, light weight, and low center of gravity the Mini Cooper was designed to handle.

The only downside to the Mini Cooper was that the suspension, although sporty, was still on the conservative side sacrificing performance for a more refined comfort that BMW has to uphold. The suspension is all good and well for the average driver but it simply won t do for the tuner who demands the most from his/her Mini Cooper. For this reason, Megan Racing has developed a damper system for the Mini Cooper.

Megan Racing Coil-Over Dampers are the ultimate upgrade to your track or street Mini Cooper or Mini Cooper S. Featuring 32 Levels of damper force adjustment, full-height adjustment, the damper kits are then perfectly matched with front Pillow Ball upper mounts for smooth quiet operation and durability.

The adjustment of the damper is as simple as can be with a built-in knob at the top of the damper mount for easy access. Simple adjustments can be made to tune to your style of driving and comfort level desired. The R56 in picture is lowered and has about .5 inch more drop in the rear and the front have .75 inch more drop left in the system. I think the word we are looking for is SLAMED!

Megan Racing dampers have the adjustability of damper setting upon the top of the stock tower mount. Although this is the most convenient location for most cars, on some applications it is still hard to access.

For this reason, Megan Racing has developed Damper Knob extensions for the applications with hard to reach damper adjustments or for those who wish to retain their interior while having the clean look and easy adjustment of a damper setting through the interior panels.

Available in three lengths which can be trimmed to desired length, these knob extensions are anodized black for a sleek and stealthy appearance.
